I guess this is why they make sample paint cans

True to form I came home from the depot with a totally different color than either of the ones I was considering. And by totally different I obviously mean the one next in line on the Behr display.

And also, true to form, I was totally baffled at how it looked on the wall. The whole time I kept muttering to myself, "maybe it will dry differently" while turning the light on and off, cocking my head to one side, and walking in and out of the room.
Honestly, all I know is that every time I look at it I think of a few of my favorite girls.
And then I get a craving for cheesecake.
But seriously, Rose's outfit is pretty much the color on my wall. I feel like if I bought a peach couch and lilac curtains I would have the 80's color palate down.

I could probably make it modern with how I decorate around the wall color, but now that I've made that association it's all over. Kinda like when I got bangs and it made me feel like I had early 90's hair. I could not get over it and now? No bangs.

So Tyson and I went to the depot and picked out a new color to try.

We shall see my friends, we shall see...

  1. Yes, I see what you mean, it's more of a feminine color (if colors had a gender) like the Golden Girls. Green is a great color though! It's soothing and peaceful. Believe me, I know it's not easy finding the right tone. Don't wimp out like I did and go with off-white. I hope you do find the right one so it will help me narrow it down when I do end up painting a future home. Good luck!

  2. Okay, here's a random suggestion. Take a look at Logan's sweatshirt in your header for inspiration, have you considered using that bold of a green on the wall? It's a nice, warm tone.

  3. I guess it looks different in the photos than on the wall--but then again, I'm almost the same age as Rose {snicker}. Good luck. That's why my walls are all a nice shade of creamy coffee.

  4. We have a green wall...it looks like the color of the golden girls (late eighties/early nineties) and I hate it! It is also about 18 feet high on a vaulted wall. It does look better with all of our pictures on it, but I am not a fan! One day when I have the time it will turn a nice shade of brown!

  5. LOL! Good luck. Picking a color is SO hard. My kitchen is green and I LOVE it. It is actually two tones & the darker shade (on an accent wall) is called Crocodile. It is a Behr color. The rest of the walls are the lighter shade on that card. Check it out if the latest color doesn't work. Love the GG reference. You are too funny.
