DIY madness!

I did it!

17 trips to home depot, 47,000 splinters, and 2 hours of hammering/Mormon cursing (what the heck you flippin' flipper!!) has netted me a garden! A raised garden my friends.

Well, at least the beginnings of a garden. It's a little too early to plant everything that I want, but we've had a few rare warm days here and I had to get crackalakin' if I wanted to get started.

Did I mention I know NOTHING about gardening?

It may not be perfect in fact, it's definitely not, but I like it! Soon, we'll have fresh lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, and 2 kinds of peas! Although I am a little confused on the peas right now. They were the only thing that I planted from seed and I might have forgotten where one kind ends and the other begins. It might be where that stick is that I put in the back of the bed, or maybe not. What an adventure this gardening business is!

I'd like to entitle this one "Life as a Cauliflower".
Oh, note to husband:
Our hose is no bueno. When it gets kinked it backlogs out at the spigot in an out of control way. This back splash inadvertently doused the side of the house, patio, BBQ and possibly the kitchen through the screen door. Um, totally not my fault though.
Love,
your beautiful, domestic, attempting
to garden in righteousness wife

Gardening hasn't been our only project though!
More on this little monstrosity later...

  13. I wish we had a garden. We did once and weeded it the first time when we initially planted, then didn't come back for.. oh, a few weeks. When we did get back to it, yes there was a lot growing there, but they were all weeds. Our poor little vegetables were overgrown and couldn't get any sunlight. Needless to say we amassed about four carrots and two ears of corn from all that work. The other oh-so-ridiculous thing about it was that when we were searching for seeds we just could not for the life of us find any potato seeds anywhere, how strange. Later we felt really stupid when we were told that you're actually suppose to plant potatoes. Yeah, forgot about that.
