Oh goodness, time is interesting isn't it? I swear I blink once and 3 weeks have gone by on the blog, yet in that same blink I've only moved one more day in the pregnancy. Lame.
I'm just gonna go through the pictures we've taken in the last bit to catch up. Warning, it will definitely be Logan heavy.
We got snow! Logan thought it was pretty awesome since we had been talking about snow, making fake snow with styrofoam, and making snowflakes out of paper for the last few weeks. Finally, the real thing!
Dad even built a snowman with him at 7:30 in the morning since it was already raining and the snow would probably not be good that night.
He played outside for hours (and went through about four outfits) which made me sad that it wouldn't last. The next day...
Yup. Rainy McRainster.
And boy does this kid love to splash.
No matter where he is.
Logan is also very helpful when it comes to doing laundry.
Hey, guess what happened January 30? Tyson had a birthday!
Turns out 32 isn't as old as I thought it was. At least, it looks good on him.
I finally used my brain the other day and instead of stressing during dinner prep (which by the way, I'm feeling good enough to cook again, yay!) about Logan climbing on the counter and touching things he's not supposed to, I got him some split peas to play with.
Fantastic (and free!) sensory play. He played with the peas the entire time I was cooking which was about an hour. Best thing we have ever done for ourselves. I have since gotten them back out several times either at his request or when he wants to hang out in the kitchen with me and can't help with what I'm doing.
Another activity that his little fingers have enjoyed is putting pennies in his pig.
I got the pig bank at Target for two bucks and it has provided hours of entertainment. He's even figured out how to take the plug out so he can fill and empty at his own will.
And when we don't do that, we dress as a dog.
Or play in our boxes of toys.
And that's pretty much been our life the last few weeks. Now you know why I haven't been able to think of anything to blog about :)
A couple things Logan has done that I don't want to forget:
The other day we had a relief society activity at the same time as Tyson's scouts. When Tyson came to get him, he swiped a piece of broccoli off the refreshment table and excitedly called it a tree.
He proceeded to bathe with, and sleep with tree.
If only I could get him to eat it.
And on the topic of eating, we went out to lunch yesterday and we ordered Logan a little pizza (he loves) and apples (the only side he even had a chance of eating). When the food came he proceeded to eat only the skin of the apples and nothing more. So random and out of character.
I love it.
I thought the peas were a brilliant idea! Tonight while I was getting everything out and ready to make dinner, I decided to try your idea... Fail! Kalyn didn't want to play with them... she just wanted to eat them. It was a great idea, but I guess I'm going to have to find something she won't eat next time.
ReplyDeleteLove the split pea play idea! I did this with rice once. I need to do it again.
