Meanwhile back at the ranch...

Hmm... So I guess turning 28 means I don't blog anymore? I don't know. It's probably because Satan's latest tool (pinterest) has sucked up all my internet time.

We've also been busy (which I just accidentally typed busty, and we are definitely not that) although I can't even remember what we've been doing. We had a miraculous 4 or so days of nice weather last week and I was pretty much in a panic over it. "Get outside Logan, quick! Before it's gone! Go! GO!" The house looked like a tornado went through it by the end of the week but I'm glad we spent every second we could outside because now that nice weather is gone and I'm back to scrubbing toilets.

In a semi-related topic, guess what this is:
a. A Harry Potter potion ingredient
b. A delicacy from Tyson's mission (Honduras)
c. Our latest catch from the tide pools at Cannon Beach
d. Something boring like plant bulbs
 If you guessed.......

D., you were right! These are the bulbs of the ranunculus (which I prefer to call redonkulous) flower which I planted in my yard last week. What was not boring about these was when I forgot to plant them and let them soak just a few (ok, 18) hours longer than the recommended 24 they smelled like rotten baby poop.

Bad.

And then my hands stunk for 2 days. The bulbs were probably all rotten. Guess we'll see if they grow.

In more news from last week, Tyson went to Florida for work so I drove up to Olympia to see my dear friend Ashley. We had great talks, food, did zumba, ran, and generally had a great time. During all that I only took one picture.
A dud.

More news; I got my hair cut. It's only been about 10 months since my last trim so I guess it was time to make a change. I cut a few inches off the bottom and...
my biennial bangs are back. Somehow I must have stumbled upon the secret to doing bangs. I can't tell you what it is, because I don't know, but they have been super easy to do this time around. Must be the cut!

I have more to say, but it's late and I wanted to post something today so this will have to do! Remind me to tell you how I'm going to be an extreme couponer. But probably not.

TTFN!!

Did it

Well I turned 28 yesterday. One year closer to 30...
Between my birthday and Mother's Day I have felt so pampered! Love my boys so much and I'm so grateful to have them.

I think my presents went well together; for Mother's Day I got a jogging stroller, and for my birthday I got a full length stand up mirror.

The mirror will either be my praise or motivation for using the stroller I figure.

Thanks for a great birthday!

Mother's Day

Last year on Mother's Day Tyson took this cute picture of Logan and me.
So of course I thought I would make it a tradition and get another picture in the same spot this year.
FAIL.

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!

The Oakden Post

I guest posted at my cousin Kendra's blog today! Crazy! If you want to check it out, head on over there. And while you're there, be sure to check out her adorable little baby and the cute videos that she and her husband make.

Love ya Kendra!

Cardboard Queen

That's the label my mother affectionately gave me when I told her about my latest project. And yes, my love affair with the cardboard diaper box continues. If I had known how much fun they were going to be I would have started stocking up on diapers years ago!
I wanted to get the letter "L" at a craft store and cover it with moss (yes, I've been taken in with that trend) but all the letters were too big or too small. So I went home, dismantled a diaper box, and started sketching one out.  With the advice of my craft day girls I got the letter the way I wanted and hot glued a little more cardboard on there to make it 3D.
I didn't bother putting a back on it because I'm lazy and hoping there is no reason for anyone to see the back.
I hot glued a little mossy goodness on there... then I ripped it off because it didn't look right, and then glued it on again.
And yeah, I did put a piece with an unfinished back in front of a mirror. Not the greatest plan I suppose.
So don't waste your money on those outrageously expensive craft store letters (hey, I can do a lot with $10) make them yourself!

This post brought to you by glue guns and the letter L.
