9 months!

I can't believe my baby has now been outta my belly as long as he's been in it. Tyson and I both feel like he's been around forever to where we'll be reminiscing about something that happened last year and wonder where Logan was when we did that activity.

Oh yeah. Not born yet.

While we were at the doctor's today for his 9 month check I knew in advance that he didn't need to get any vaccinations. What a relief! It's so hard to hold your baby as he cries in pain while getting poked time and time again. It makes me wish I could get the vaccines for him and you know how I feel about needles.

So you can imagine my dismay when the doctor told me they needed to take some blood from Logan to check his iron. Nooo!

When the nurse came in to administer the torture I snuggled my sweet baby close enjoying his last few minutes of happiness before it dissolved into tears of pain. She got his toe all ready and opened up the needle while I squeezed him tighter, closed my eyes and waited.

And waited...

I peeked through my eyelashes sure she was going to poke him any second and saw Logan's blood already oozing out of his toe while he lazily batted her hand with his other foot.

Seriously? She could have been a cheerio stuck to his foot for all he cared. He put up way more of a fight while I was cutting his toenails this morning, and thank goodness I did, right, since she was all up in there today.

Go figure.

In other statistical news he weighs 18lbs 15 oz which officially puts him in the 25%.

For some reason this makes me feel guilty.

I was all proud when he was 2 weeks old and had gained a ton of weight and was in the 80%. I felt like my milk had superpowers and that Logan and I were an unstoppable weight altering machine. He was gaining, I was losing, it was a beautiful thing. I knew I should have exclusively breast fed him until he was 3.

Just kidding. It is a little sad though that he doesn't need me as much as he used to.

Also, I no longer feel justified calling his thighs his "chubby chubbos" because I guess he's just not that fat.

I don't care though. He's perfect to me even though it's really hard to take him seriously when his breakfast is stuck to his face.

And can you see that he only has one tooth coming in on the top? Not gonna lie, I'm worried that if the next one doesn't catch up soon he's going to look like a jack-o-lantern.

So old!

Kissy face

Ah, sweet Logan.

Tyson taught him how to give kisses last week and since then he has become a kissing machine. When he gets it in his head that he wants to give you a kiss... you're getting one. Or 17.

I adore it of course. Nothing like feeling baby love in the form of a drooly open mouth pressed against your face, ear, or neck.

Unfortunately it may be time to have a little talk about who we kiss and who we do not kiss. Does he give his grandparents kisses? No. The strange man working at the Fred Meyer jewelry department who gave him a twinkie and then got a little too close? Yes.

And I realize there are more things wrong with the above sentence than just the kissing. He didn't eat the twinkie.

Oh how I love that kid.

Here are a few other things he's been up to lately.

He creates circles of protection with his toys so the LOST smoke monster can't get him.

He sings to me.

He gives me cheesy smiles.

He poops all over his cute outfit and makes me change him.
I got those sandals that he's hiding for $1.50 today by the way. Boo-yah!

And he loves hanging out with his friends.
With no pants on.

He lives a good life, this boy of mine.

This one's for you mom

I keep telling my mutha about all the crafts I'm doing and she keeps telling me to take a picture and put it on the blog so she can see it, so here you go!

First, remember this?
Yes, the wreath of coolness.

I finished it, yay! Seriously, it took me about three of Logan's naps plus almost a whole dictionary and 5 glue sticks.
I think it belongs in the green room, don't you?

Speaking of the green room (which always smells like pickles, weird yeah?) I made some panels to go on the wall.
There's that green fabric, so pretty!

My next project was a bit of a transformation, but not that much really. Logan and I found this frame at Goodwill for $5 and decided to turn it into a dry erase board. Hopefully Paige doesn't mind me revamping her frame!

I put a fresh coat of paint on the frame, cleaned up the glass, and hot glued fabric to the cardboard. I love it! Totally useful and the orange is great.

I've actually been a little obsessed with orange lately and am trying to put pops of it in my kitchen. I think this next project may go somewhere above the cabinets.

And my last work in progress...
He's playing peek-a-boo.

We're still working on that whole covering your eyes part.

Bits and pieces

Oh hello there! Yes, it's me. I've decided to blog again. So without further ado, let us discuss the last few weeks starting with last night's dinner.

I am not a chef by any means but I usually like what I cook and since I was making something I had already made twice before I assumed it would be a no brainer. I was just making spaghetti using squash instead of noodles. Even though I cooked it longer than I usually do the squash was underdone and I hated it. Tyson didn't mind and ate both our helpings, then blamed the "al denteness" on the squash itself.

All you unmarried ladies out there, be sure to find a man who blames your bad cooking on the food.

He offered to take me out to dinner but I declined and made no bake cookies instead.

Of which I ate 6.

2. The weather has finally turned around for us! Unbelievable. After approximately 4,253 days of rain in a row we have been able to introduce Logan to the sun. We went for a geocaching walk today to enjoy it.

I documented it with some more of my stellar photography.
Fail 1
Fail 2
Fail 3

It was fun except that Tyson is allergic to spring. Poor guy. I offered to take a picture of his red puffy eyes after our walk but he declined.

3. Logan has found a new love.

The graham cracker.
I have found a new hate.

The paste created when cracker, saliva, and cheerio dust combine.

4. We were hanging out in the front yard today watching Tyson try and jump the curb on a little scooter. Our neighbors came outside and teased Tyson about setting a bad example for Logan because he wasn't wearing any protective gear. Not two seconds later Tyson biffed it and fell right onto his bum. In front of the neighbors.

5. I love automated phone calls.

Automated lady: You have reached the Maytag Dishwasher Recall Line. Please tell me your phone number.

Me: 360...

(Logan shrieks)

AL: I'm sorry, I did not understand you. Please tell me your phone number.

Me: 360...

Me: Dangit!

AL: I'm sorry, I did not hear you...
